Everybody's Got A Record: Bobby Cox Edition

**In this series we strive to prove the universal truth that every baseball player holds some kind of record.**

Ever since the Beckett Blog did a post on Bobby Cox's retirement and the small amount of cards he was on in his 29 years as a manager. The post stated that Bobby's rookie card from the 1969 Topps set goes for about $20 and they are right. I was lucky enough to find card that was listed as "poor" condition at a Buy It Now price for $5 but I've seen eBay listing that would list the same card as "very good" and not think a thing of it.

See for yourself:

1969 Topps #237 Bobby Cox

Now onto the record...Bobby Cox holds the record for number of times being ejected from a game. He was ejected 161 times [158 regular season games and three playoff games] which is 29 more games than the previous record holder, John McGraw.

Here are a few other Cox cards from my collection:

1978 Topps #93 Bobby Cox

1990 Topps Traded #23T Bobby Cox

1985 Topps #411 Bobby Cox

2003 Topps 205 Polar Bear #21 Bobby Cox Mini
